Policies and Etiquette

To our lovely customers,

We strive to offer classes with the best teachers, available at the lowest possible cost. In order to do so, we must set parameters.

Our classes are limited in size in order to give you the best personal and learning experience.

Classes are paid in advance.

No walk-ins allowed. You must sign up and pay in advance. Please sign up early to avoid the disappointment of cancelled or fully booked classes!

We cancel a class for low enrollment on the

Wednesday before the scheduled class date.

We do NOT issue Refunds or Credits for Guest Teacher Classes.

Refunds will NOT be issued for missed classes or cancellations made within three business days of a staff taught class.

Please understand we commit to pay a teaching fee to the teacher as well as transportation, meals & lodging well in advance of the class.

Current guest teachers include, Sherry Bray, Marla Pelz, Susan Portra, and Diana Vandervoort.

Please arrive on time.

Take telephone calls outside.

Space is limited, be considerate of your fellow classmates regarding the size, number, and storage of your tote.

Wait your turn and be mindful of the other students - time with the teacher is in the order of arrival.  Double or triple what you learn by observing classmates projects & techniques.

Classes are for the convenience and education of our customers, thus, we require class canvas be purchased from A ThreadGarden. Regular attendees may bring a maximum of 2 “stash” canvases during the first quarter of the year - limited to 1 per class.

New students have a 3 month window to begin a new canvas purchased at A ThreadGarden.

If you need a canvas taped/mounted for a class, please do it a few days ahead. If this isn’t possible, schedule early arrival. A minimum of 20 minutes is required to mount a small canvas. Large canvases can take up to an hour. When several students need to have canvases mounted and taped, it can be overwhelming. We reserve the right to limit the number of canvases per student during class days. Taping/mounting a canvas purchased elsewhere will incur a service charge.

Canvases brought to class must be purchased at A ThreadGarden. Students are limited to two canvases per class session - only as time allows.

Please understand that threads, once opened, must be purchased.

We can’t always match thread colors you may have purchased months to years ago or at another shop.

Clean up after yourself - there will be another student sitting in the same chair after you leave class.

Classes are paid in advance. Your space in repeated classes is secured by your payment ahead of time. You may risk losing a seat in a regularly scheduled class if you choose not to sign up in advance.

Since it’s an election year I’ll repeat my favorite quote....

Now is the time for all good women to come to the party.

The stitching party that is!

That’s as political as we get at A ThreadGarden!

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
